Icestar pads through the camp, unseen. She knows that even if a cat would see her, she would not be harmed. She had recently died and left her home forest, miles away, to find Echomist, her lost apprentice. Echomist could smell her, but she was not here. She leaped up onto the HighStump and watched the clan.

Rainfeather padded swiftly into camp, in her jaws a vole and two mice. She dropped the food into the fresh-kill pile and took a thrush. She walked over to a shady patch of grass and started eating. She looked over at the highstump to see what redstar was doing but saw a white and blue cat sitting there. Wait! She thought, This can't be happening. She looked away and conitinued eating, looking forward to the 'date' she had with wolfstar tonight.
